We stayed here a couple of days while visiting attractions in the area. We're continuing to improve our Campground Owner Management system and more enhancements are coming soon. Staff here has always been very friendly and helpful. We began in Minnesota and drove through the heart of Missouri.
We made it across just fine. There is some noise from all the trucks idling at night but not enough to keep us awake. Pull through sites are quite long and easy to get into. Campground is above the truck parking lot on a hill.
My grandfathers and grandmothers told many stories about the construction of the bridge and it was always a treat to cross the Mighty Mo on this bridge. We didn't want to unhook the tow but the turn to get on the road was so tight we couldn't do it without unhooking. Sewer run was long and we did not hookup. Gravel sites did need a few blocks to level, but plenty long to stay hooked to toad.

Large pull-through site was on hill behind the truck stop. Hearing that the Champ Clark Bridge at Louisiana is scheduled for replacement, it seems now that all of our truss bridges are going away for good. However my Grandfather worked on that bridge in the twenties as they were building it. Stairs lead from the road up the bluff to the former main highway running east-west through town.

No cable but did find local channels. The interstate is right next to it so that's noisy too. We search up to sites for the lowest prices.

Restaurant and conveniences on site at the travel center. We would stay here again if we were in the area. This view was enhanced by the narrow and beautiful confines of that bridge.
There have been several cases like the Lexington Bridge in Illinois. Lexington just a short drive into town for restaurants and a Walmart super center less than miles away. The new bridge bypasses downtown Lexington, I wonder how all the business owners of the many antique stores feel about that? Living in Illinois, I had not heard of this bridge until I punched around on this website one day.
No frills but fine for a stopover. Now I am living in Oregon, and just found out that it's been gone for awhile. The grounds were very clean and neat. Nice pull-through site on lower tier.
We would not stay there again. The truckers stay here as well. We are from Michigan, so it made for a long journey. So it did give me some fond memories.

Noise from the idling trucks at the plaza was not an issue. So as you can imagine that bridge helped the families. All of this was topped off by a memorial stairway that seemed to climb the hillside into the clouds. Easy to get to and check-in was quick at the Fuel Desk. It was a three-span truss bridge that was painted green.

We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Motorhome. Fairly level, but just beyond the ability of my auto-levelers. Crossing the river won't be the same. The only problem that I had was that the entry and exit road was the same single lane road. Especially with the colorful history of the town, show similar to dating in I think they could come up with a better name then that.

It's not the best but at least I have it. And for the people that complained about it being to old, rickety and narrow, learn to drive! It was a historic site yes and I too miss the old things from my past.
